Wireless Sony Camera

This article applies only to wireless Sony camera connection, which is supported up to Version 11.  ShutterStream version 11.0 and beyond does not support Sony wireless connection, as Sony discontinued wireless support.

It seems Hyper-V on the PC needs to be deactivated for Sony cameras to connect over its own WiFi remote app. Steps needed:

  1. Go to Start Menu on Windows PC.
  2. Click Settings or Control Panel.
  3. Select Turn Windows Features on or off.
  4. Expand Hyper-V, expand Hyper-V Platform, clear the Hyper-V Hypervisor checkbox.
  5. Click OK. Try again our software.

Play Memories

Imaging Edge app is replacing Sony Play Memories.

Before attempting to connect your Sony camera to ShutterStream, please make sure that your camera connects to Sony's "Play Memories" (or Imaging Edge) mobile application. If Play Memories (or Imaging Edge) does not connect to your camera, then ShutterStream won't either. If you can't connect via Sony's mobile Play Memories (or Imaging Edge) application, you'll need to contact Sony's technical support to get help connecting the Sony camera to Play Memories (or Imaging Edge):

Reset Sony Connection

In version 4.0 to 11.0, if you've ever connected to a Sony camera, the camera's connection settings are saved in ShutterStream.ini.

To connect to a new Sony camera or a camera where the IP settings may have changed, you'll have to remove the Sony section from the INI file. The INI file is found here:

Win: C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\IconaSys\ShutterStream\ShutterStream.ini
Mac: /Users/<USERNAME>/Library/Application Support/ShutterStream/ShutterStream.ini

Set up the connection:
